This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Starting January 1, 2012, Walgreens will no longer be a part of Express Scripts network of pharmacy providers. This includes all Walgreens pharmacies nationwide. The contract between Walgreens and Express Scripts has ended last December 31 even after Walgreens’ year-long effort to negotiate with the pharmacy benefit manager. The ability to have their prescriptions filled at their nearest Walgreens pharmacy has caused disruption to patients who have existing health plans under Express Scripts. Some of them are forced to change pharmacists while others have to travel to a pharmacy that is too far from where they live or their workplace. Military personnel and their families, retirees and supporters are signing a petition demanding access to Walgreens even if they have health plans under Express Scripts Tricare program. Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens has been launched in their continuing effort to provide patients with quality pharmacy services. Join and be eligible to avail discounts on your prescription. A $10 family membership qualifies you to receive additional benefits including savings on more than 8,000 brand named and all generic medications. Bonuses are also given for every purchase of Walgreens brand products and photo finishing services. Visit their website and follow Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook to know more about the many programs they have to provide cost effective health plans to patients.
